#6 RSS and newsfeeds

"Feed me" intro was good to get the picture of what to do. Subscribed to 5 newsfeeds using Google reader (2 from my own institution - but I have other ways of finding out about our events). Can see that this helps manage webpages you like to visit regularly, but can't really see myself using this sort of technology - I want less email, not more. It'd be good if you were job hunting or needed to keep up with financial markets etc. Or if you had to keep up with antiquarian book sellers or art dealers - but I'don't. I wouldn't use this technology just to see people's blogs or to read book reviews. For the later, I actually like reading the paper with my feet up.
